Presented in the elevator at the Blue Room Theatre as part of the Summer Nights launch 2017.
No-one ever really believes that they could ever get hit by a bus or die trapped in an elevator - but it happens.
O Death is a one-on-one performance work set in a moving elevator. You are summoned to take a moment, contemplate your mortality and consider how your last moments may look.
The piece is a nod to the traditional American folk song 'Conversations with Death' and plays with tropes of American folk music, pop-culture and westernised perceptions of death. It is at once an abstracted investigation of mortality, a ridiculous tinsel-soaked ride and an intimate appointment you have scheduled, but haven’t put into your diary.
